You know what? If “game-ifying” boring tasks helps you - more power to you! I say, whatever works!

I usually keep a running to-do list and “checking things off” is satisfying to me. It doesn't mean that I always do things right away, but I usually get too annoyed by things that have not been done that I do them eventually. LOL

I love it.

I have struggled on and off with task that are boring and come back every week or so often.

I have written blog posts and schedules and what not.

Then two months back I also purchased an app and started setting it all up. Its crazy how our mind works if we can check of things and see statistics and rainbows and what not.

Happy you found something that works for you.

Hi, I'm another Angela participating in NaBloPoMo! I also use Finch and it has been so helpful for me. It's not magic, but it has motivated me to keep up with some of the boring everyday chores or tasks I want to do more often - because I want the cute micropets! I must have the raccoon this month.

Thanks for stopping by, fellow Angela! The micropets are the best.

Is that Chelsea walking with you? She and I went ALL IN when you turned us on to this app. It’s really been helpful for me.

Body doubling is my most effective strategy. Sometimes I just have to FaceTime and chitchat with someone to get the job done.

I’ve also been trying to break down my big tasks into 10-minute bites and putting them in Finch.

I think it was Chelsea.

Love the idea of breaking tasks into 10 minute sessions. Reminds me of when my mom would let us watch TV but we had to work on chores during commercials.

Hey there, coming from NaBloPoMo page.

Self-motivation is something that I struggle with. What works for me is getting annoyed and cleaning the house lol

I actually like cleaning the house and putting things away and what I need motivation with is… exercise. Maybe I’d try this app… Although I tried so many things already, I’m just lazy.

This app may help but I think maybe the real secret is having accountability. Do you have any friends/family that are trying to get back to exercising? Set up a little challenge between you. My motivation for exercise is a combo of not wanting to be super slow when we hike as a family - my poor balance will always slow me down some - and not wanting to disappoint my dietician who I meet with weekly. Then, you know, the whole thing that I’d like to be thinner. Ha.
