Friends in Blog Land
In which I brag on seven of my fellow NaBloPoMo participants...
As of right now, there are 25 of us participating in NaBloPoMo which is pretty amazing considering it’s a semi-underground project with no giant names behind it. Just some folks trying to write every day to share about their lives, their passions. I thought I’d introduce you to some of my fellow participants.
Allison at Bibliomania
Allison is not at all new to the blogging space, maintaining the same blog at the same location since 2009 (what must that be like?). She’s got two now-adult children, a husband, and a dog and ton of books. I love the last line of her little intro: “My husband travels a lot. Great, now you know I’m home alone and you’re probably on your way to murder me.” Nope, not en route for homicide but I could see stopping in to check what you’ve got on your bookshelves.
In a recent post about her strong opinions on talkshow host recommended books, she got to the core my same feelings on them:
I don’t want a copy with a sticker or, worse, a NON-REMOVABLE icon on the cover because I don’t want people to see me reading it and think I’m only reading it because Oprah told me to.
With such a deep archive, I’ll never read all of her pasts posts but here’s a few I did read and enjoyed.
Angela at Garden Abloom
She doesn’t have an About Me sort of page, but here’s a few posts of hers I’ve enjoyed form her blog she’s had since January of 2024.
Making Spotify lists of songs she keeps repeating, done monthly
Progress on her 101 in 1001 goals project - reminds me I should probably do an. update on my (very small) progress on my 25 in 2025 goals
Her list of 202 special categories of books she wants to read in the 1001 days
Anthea Booysen
Anthea is a blogger and photographer way over in South Africa.
Book review of a book by an author she loves and is new to me
5 Things she can’t resist buying - think I’ll steal this idea for a future post
Barb at Alchemy of Clay
Barb lives in the beautiful Black Mountains of North Carolina and actually has two blogs she writes in. The one she’s doing NaBloPoMo in started in 2012.
Coco at New Journey Starts
Coco is an expat, though I’m not sure from where, who currently lives in Brasilia. She’s got two girls and at least two cats. Her blog stretches back to late 2019.
Daria at Mom of Children
Daria is from Russia and now lives in New Jersey with her husband and kids. She’s blogged since 2023.
Ernie at No Small Feet
Ernie’s got eight kids from teens to nearly 30 years-old. I love her honesty at the end of her bio: “Life is messy - I’d rather write about it than clean it up.” She’s been blogging since 2013.
I love going and reading the blogs of random folks out there. It also showed me how much I need to create an About Me page and fix my “thanks for subscribing” email. They say, oh, nothing right now.

It’s so fun to “meet” new bloggers through NaBloPoMo! I’m really enjoying everyone’s posts, even though I’m quite behind on commenting.
Hey thanks for the shout out. I have a VERY short bio on my blog, and have had it since 2023. If it’s not broken… but yeah I should probably update it.
You like Dordogne??? I loved it sooo much.
